Pilates for Kids

Kids need Pilates too.  A great addition to you child’s weekly activity plan.  This fun interactive outdoor workshop for you and your child give you the tools to add a Pilates workout into your family’s lives.  We will offer two sessions on for ages 4-7 and another for 7-11 year olds.  This outdoor session will be held in Golden Gate Park near Childern’s Playground.

January: Reversing the Effect of COVID on Your Body

COVID-19 has change every aspect of our daily lives. After nearly a year it has effected our bodies too.  This intensive talks about the common body changes we see in the membership.  You will learn how to combat them in your daily life, and daily exercise you can do or add into you independent workouts.  Interactive intensive will only be offer once. Febuary: Return to Life

Due to COVID-19 your progression through the Classical Pilates system was halted.  Starting in Febauary we set aim to “Return to Life”.  This month intensive will be covering the requered reading of Joseph Pilates book on Contrology “Rentun to Life”.  We will offer 3 interactive intenisve to discus the concpets in the book followed by a Basic or Intermedaite Pilates workout covering those concepts.  The intensive recording and course work will be available on Google Classroom on February 21st.

March: Upper Shoulders & Back

We continue to focus on reserving some of the effect of COVID-19. We will focus on you learning the anamtony and healthy range of motions of you upper back an shoulders. Then depending on your system level we will work on instill healthy range of motion and musclse activation in your reformer workouts. **We encourage you to attend an outdoor workout on the reformer for best results. We will offer 3 interactive sesseions.  The recording and course work will be avaiable in Google Classroom on March 20th.

Building on our reformer work in March we will take a deep..deep dive into your reformer workouts.  We will breakdown the name, goals, and modfication for  your body and why.  We encourage you to attend an outdoor reformer session if you can.  We will offer 3 intensive for each system level :Basic, Intermediate, Advanced.  Please note the intermediate and Advanced instensives are 90 minutes. May: Understanding Flexiablity & Motitlty

Classical Pilates aimes to develop a balance in your body between felixability and full range of motion.  Being too stiff and too loose is key joints of your body can lead to injury.  This intensive we will learn the four major metholds od flexiablityand examine what a healthy range of motion is for your body (motility).  We will then apply these concepts to four Classical Pilates exericses that are common done wrong due to flexiability issues (Abs series,  Short box series, Ladder Barrel Sctrecth/ Ballet Strecthes, Spinal strecth forward and Saw).  This instensive will be conducted online, thus we will offer an interactive class only once. The recording will be aviable on May 25th.

Building on our flexiability work in April we will take a deep..deep dive into your Tower/ Caddliac workouts.  We will breakdown the name, goals, and modfication for  your body and why.  We encourage you to attend an outdoor Tower/ Caddliac session if you can.  We will offer 3 intensive for each system level :Basic, Intermediate, Advanced.  Please note the intermediate and Advanced instensives are 90 minutes. July: Understanding Your Hips

USing primaryly the Wunda chair and Large barrel and small barrels we will learn and examine the anatony of your hips as it realates to your daily activities. Then create Wunda chair independent workouts for you that will help you to strengthen and stabilitixze your hips.  This instensive will be offer 6 times on the 3rd week of July. We encourage you to repeat it is you can.  No recording will be avaiable for this intensive. 

4th Week of July                18th to 24th

Pilates around the room

August: Your Pilates Around the Room

Time to test your knowelgde.  This intensive will build from your indepedent workouts. We will examine how to create a complete Classical Pilates workout using the equipment. How to cycle through the differnt piecses of equipment while address your body needs overall and that day. We will offer 6 session of this intensive. You are encouraged to repeat it if you can. No recording will be avaiable fo rthis workout.

We will learn all the bone, ligments, and muscles of your neck and upper jaw.  You will learn why keep you neck and upper back in alignment is crtical to a healthly life.  Depending on your level you will learn extra and ending that for you upper back and neck.  We will offer 3 interactive session of this intenvise.  One for each system level: Basic, Intermedaite, Advanced.  The records will be avaiable on Nov 4th.

November: Open Studio Test Prep

For those members that are ready we will hold 4 Open Studio test out prep intenisve sessions. .These session what we look for in a passing test-out.   We will cover big no-no’s for you level.  Then you will have a mini practical on the exericses while we give you feedback.
